About

My name is Matt Sonnenberg (@MTSonnenberg on Twitter). I have been playing board games for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family and I played all the typical games you might expect like Candyland and Monopoly. As the years moved on I added card games, like Crazy Eights, UNO, Hearts, Spades, and a family favorite called Nickels, to my repertoire. I soon grew more intellectual and began playing games like Cribbage, Chess, Scrabble, and Boggle.

In more recent years, though, the family has stumbled into a new genre of board games. This genre is most commonly known as Euro Games (since the vast majority of these games were created, designed, and produced in Europe, Germany in particular). Although we do not exclusively play Euro Games, they do tend to take precedence. The more I play these games, the more I realize that it really takes a special “breed” of people to enjoy these games as I do.

In my short life, I have played hundreds of different games. I am always up for a new challenge or a new challenger. A day rarely goes by that we do not pull a game off the shelf to play.

Through this blog I hope to explain to you Why We (gamers) Do what we do, Review Games so that you know where to start, and also answer any questions that you may have along the way.
